Top bralette picks | life-in-resume

Lovely lace bralettes are everywhere and I don't just mean on tumblr. They've been a huge trend in the last year and I felt like I should share some beautiful finds on the high streets - rather than paying the over the top bespoke or urban outfitters prices. With the 4 bralettes I picked ranging from £4-£12.99 so you won't have to break the bank to get the latest underwear trend.

No.1 - £9.99
This gorgeous burgundy bralette has some amazing details to it that make it comparable to the underwear sold at Anne Summers for a fraction of the price. The mesh section under the bust creates a lovely shape to the bralette that works as a whole with the lace detailing.
No.2 - £12.99
Two bralettes for £13 - I couldn't think of a better deal. These two have lovely summery colours and although we're going into autumn now they will still look lovely peaking out the side of low cut tops and dresses. I think these are a great deal and are something I would pick up in an instant.
No.3 - £12.99
Sexy. That is the only word to describe this bralette. It has the look of something that would be sold at a high end lingerie shop but is very reasonable and would look beautiful on - especially for those intimate moments.
No.4 - £4
Words can't even describe how I felt when I saw this bralette on the Primark instagram - I didn't think they would produce such a pretty garment and only for £4. If you aren't sure about how to style a bralette or if they would be something you would feel comfortable wearing I would recommend purchasing this one as it is so reasonably priced.

If you enjoyed this blogpost leave a comment and hopefully i'll have time to create some more posts like this as I really enjoyed it.

Crochet summer festival look | life-in-resume

Summer festival season has been in full swing for a while now but being me of course i'm late on the band wagon - but i'm here now with a simple festival look incorporating the huge S/S trend of crochet items, that can be found all over the high street as well as the runway.
Although I don't typically create looks with being subtle in mind, I felt that for this look to be casual and perfect for a summer festival I would tone it down and use a mix of neutral shades and rustic vibes to create a more mature festival outfit.

White crochet cross back vestTopshop (£22) - This crochet top is the perfect summery top, with the lightweight cotton it would be perfect in the summer heat and general heat of a festival. The cross in the back of the top gives it more detail along with the crochet finish at the bottom of the top.
Suede high waist shortsH&M (£14.99) - Shorts always have been and seem to continue in being a summer festival staple item. Being made of a suede 'esk' fabric means that it adds more dimension to the outfit, the lace up corset detail in the front also ties in nicely with the cross in the back of the top.
Ankle sandalsNew Look (£12.99) - These sandals are a complete bargain! Although not a typical shoe choice for a festival (or at least in England) but I felt as if the shoes worked really well for the simplistic look of this casual outfit. However changing these shoes up for a pair of wellies would look just as good for those festival vibes.
Felt floppy hatTopshop (£28) - Practical and fashionable?! Whats not to love. Big floppy hats have been on the fashion scene recently and I think this hat went perfectly with this boho laid back festival look. With the black ribbon tying in perfectly with the black bum bag.
Black faux leather bum bagNew Look (£12.99) - Again bum bags are very functional for a festival and I would always suggest it (or a backpack). They work perfectly for carrying the basics into the festival areas unlike the huge bag fulls that us ladies tend to be lugging around.
Gold arm cuff - Accessorize (Was £8.00 Now £2.50) - Layering of jewelry has been big for this festival season but who really has the time to be backing all the fiddly things - this simple arm cuff just adds a bit of pop to the outfit in a simple way yet still giving the summer festival feeling. Also a great item to have in a jewelry for any Grecian trends that happen to come back into fashion.

Hope you enjoyed this outfit I created using high street items. If you'd like to see more festival looks with different vibes or for specific festival leave a comment or give this post a like. Thank you!

Mysticum Luna Review | life-in-resume

After a long couple of months of preparation for exam, I am finally finished and a free agent until September when I'm off to Plymouth to study BA Fashion. But within this summer before I 'mature' at uni, I want to get myself back into the blogging scene - mostly to give me something to do when I have some free time.

About 2 months ago I came across the brand Mysticum Luna on Instagram - where I fell in love with some of their accessories. After following them for a while my sister was interested in buying me a gift and after seeing me continuously like every picture Mysticum Luna posted she decided to get me something from their website.

Then a few days later I received the gift of 2 little tissue paper wrapped items - both being well packaged and arriving to me in perfect condition. The gifts that I received were part of the 'Lucky Dip' that Mysticum Luna offer - a cute way of getting something without knowing what it is before you buy it. Each of the Lucky Dips being £2 each and can vary from a wide range of products such as charms, chokers, rings and crystals - all having the same sort of tumblr/grunge style that has been popular for the last couple of years.
The 2 items that I received was a velvet choker with a bird skull pendent and a butterfly key ring. Both the products are amazing quality and are great items to receive for only £2 each. The key ring is perfect for me as I don't have many keys so the simple butterfly key ring makes it easy to find my keys when they are lost in the messy jungle that is my handbag. As someone who doesn't often buy necklaces, receiving the skull necklace was great - I have had several comments on the necklace from the times I have worn it and I think it is a great item to pair with a dressed down day paired with a crop top and shorts to add a little bit of edginess to an outfit.

If you're looking for somewhere to get birthday presents, a treat for a friend or even looking for something for yourself - I would defiantly say give Mysticum Lunas website a chance. All the items available are amazing prices and great quality.

S/S15 TREND ALERT: SMOCKING | life-in-resume

The 2014 S/S collections are long gone with their bejewelled everything, sheer fabrics and pretentious prints. Now it’s time to start preparing for the up and coming trends of S/S 2015.

2015 will see a rise in the desire to be different – this happens every year but people are really stepping up to the plate to ensure that they are wearing something that has never been done and I think the summer is a great time for experimenting.

Georgia Hardinge is the leading fashion figure head in creating beautiful garments that have led to the great folded trend that is about to sweep the fashion front line. Although the concept of folds and structures within garments can date back to early 1800s Japanese style it is really making a unique display on the catwalks for S/S15.
The structure in the garments that Hardinge creates are beautiful and the manipulation of fabric is comparable to paper origami. The sharp lines she is able to translate into her work make for garments that are unusual yet simple – they are a trend that I can see translating really well onto the high street as although it is unique it also has a simplistic and minimal feel about it. This may be down to the sharp tailoring that has been a trend for a while not only on the catwalks about also on the high street and the use of bold colours or simple colours – often people don’t like to experiment too much with colour yet S/S allows people to come out of their comfort zones and I think this style is a great way to do that as it could become a key piece in a wardrobe that can be worked into different looks.

Hardinge is making great impact on the fashion scene with the likes of Lady Gaga, Paloma Faith and Jessie J wearing some of her pieces. I think there is a lot more to come from this designer as time goes on and I also think that the Folding origami style of fashion will be a great success throughout S/S15 weather it be to the extent of Hardinge’s style or to a sleek folded pencil skirt.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I hope to share more of my opinions on up and coming S/S15 trends.

Nomcore: Longline Knitwear Guide | life-in-resume

Like in my previous Nomcore post (click here) I stated how it’s all about being the same as everyone, fitting in rather than making a statement – which typically fashion is all about. Nomcore is perfect for A/W which is way it has made such an impact on the catwalk for this season and also on the high street.
One branch of the Nomcore trend is long line knitwear – this simply means knitwear that is long. As this trend has developed massively over A/W14 it has led to the increase of items available on the high street, so here are 5 of my top pics that I think fit long line knitwear perfectly, thus creating the ultimate A/W14 Nomcore outfit.

Knitted Poncho – H&M - £12.49
This first jumper is a great addition to any wardrobe, let alone a Nomcore wardrobe. The cable knit detail along the front of the garment adds detail to the relatively simple design, this knit pattern works nicely with the slouchy turtle neck which is really in for this A/W14 season. This jumper would be perfect with a pair of dark wash jeans, combat boots and oversized structured bag.
Oversized Jumper – H&M - £9.99
This fine knit jumper with pleather panelled sleeves is a great A/W basic any year, its perfect to layer underneath and on top of. A pair of leggings, a chunky knit scarf and a leather jacket would create a simple day to day Nomcore look fit for the runway.
Waterfall Monochrome Shawl – Matalan - £12.00
This is a great find! The gorgeous structure of this garment makes it so much more luxurious than the price tag says. This shawl would be perfect for throwing on top of outfits both in the evening and the day whilst still giving a chic look to the outfit. This would be the perfect staple item in any Nomcore lover’s wardrobe.
Moda Formal Cardigan – Asda - £20.00
This grey cardigan has a structure that is much more tailored which often is associated with Nomcore but at the same time this has a more laid back approach which is perfect. This style is similar to the boyfriend coat style which again is within the Nomcore wardrobe – layering this with chunky knit scarfs and dresses would make a simple yet really lovely outfit that has minimal effort.
Navy and Red Check Blanket Wrap – New Look - £19.99
These blanket wrap have been huge this A/W and so they should be, they create effortless looks in a really classy way. The print of this wrap is necessarily a Nomcore print but I think tartan is a trend that will always be in and out of fashion so it is worth having a key item like this in your wardrobe.

Hope you enjoyed this post – I’ll be back with more A/W14 Trends next week.

Giftset Chirstmas Guide | life-in-resume

I typically would say a giftset is a cop out but I am in loveeeeee with the giftsets that are on offer this year. I decided to come up with a few giftsets from Boots that I think would make great presents - Boots are the go to place for sets as they have the 3 for 2 offer which really is a good deal.
Joules Prize Winning Skin Bodycare Mini Hat Box - £10
With 4 great miniatures this a really nice gift for someone who is into skincare over make-up. Even if they aren't into the stuff inside the box, the box will look great on a desk being used as storage.
Dove Just Beautiful Gift Set - £10
This dove set comes with the essential meaning you really can't go wrong with it, with a lovely scent yet still kind to skin this would be a great set for someone who is all about simple things in life.
Beauticology Gingerbread Tin - £8
Not only is this tin cute but the body butters inside this set are great. The price of this set also makes it that much better.
Jack Wills Ladies Body Mist Trio Collection - £10
These body mists are great for those teens in your life, this set will last well into the summer which is always a great bonus with Christmas sets.
Starbucks Festive Mug with Milk Chocolate Coins - £8
A mug is always a great gift and this just makes it easier, including some little treats inside. To make a great gift you could include a Starbucks gift card to make this present have more value and thought.
Soap & Glory™ YOUR OWN SWEET LIME™ Gift Set - £10
Soap and Glory giftsets are my weakness at Christmas, I love giving them and receiving them - which gives me faith in that the person I am giving the gift to will get a great one.
No7 Mini Eye Palette - £10
For the make up lover of your friends this would be perfect, its a great size and a brilliant alternative to the Naked Basics palette which is similar in design.

Hope you enjoyed this giftset gift guide and it gives you some idea for Christmas presents this season.

'Boyfriend' Gift Guide | life-in-resume

The worst person to buy for are the men in your life. Whether that be a male friend or a boyfriend they are awful to try and shop for. So here I have come up with a couple ofideas that will be on my list for the men in my life.
Socks - Topman - £6
You really cant go wrong with getting someone socks for Christmas and getting a print like these makes them great for the winter time of year but the style will also work all year around - because lets face it no one likes getting Christmas themed items on Christmas day.
 Scarf - Urban Outfitters – £12
This scarf would be perfect for a man in your life that feels the cold, i know my boyfriend would be really unhappy to receive this but my Dad or Granddad would be so grateful as it is perfect for those winter evening strolls.
Robot clock – Paperchase – £12
I love this little guy and I think it makes a great present for those geeky guys in your life. This would look great on a desk at home or a desk at work. This little guy is only small which would make it a great stocking filler.
DVD – ASDA - £10

DVDs are always a great option for men, although make sure you get it right because you don't want it shoved at the back of the cupboard and never opened.
Phone case – New Look - £6.50

Although its rare to see a man with a phone case on their phone this is a really cool case that I think younger guys in your life would really like.
Cufflinks and Tie Bar – Primark £6

For £6 this gift is something you need to get in your gift cupboard, even if its not for Christmas this a  great deal and you should have your hands on.
Nerf gun – Tesco - £6.75
This may be the biggest mistake I ever make but every man has a childish side so for my boyfriend i decided to buy him a nerf gun so he can entertain himself for a couple of hours. They aren't too expensive so even as a joke present you aren't looking out.

Hope you enjoyed this gift guide and it helped give you inspiration for gifts for the men in your life.
