Nomcore: Longline Knitwear Guide | life-in-resume

Like in my previous Nomcore post (click here) I stated how it’s all about being the same as everyone, fitting in rather than making a statement – which typically fashion is all about. Nomcore is perfect for A/W which is way it has made such an impact on the catwalk for this season and also on the high street.
One branch of the Nomcore trend is long line knitwear – this simply means knitwear that is long. As this trend has developed massively over A/W14 it has led to the increase of items available on the high street, so here are 5 of my top pics that I think fit long line knitwear perfectly, thus creating the ultimate A/W14 Nomcore outfit.

Knitted Poncho – H&M - £12.49
This first jumper is a great addition to any wardrobe, let alone a Nomcore wardrobe. The cable knit detail along the front of the garment adds detail to the relatively simple design, this knit pattern works nicely with the slouchy turtle neck which is really in for this A/W14 season. This jumper would be perfect with a pair of dark wash jeans, combat boots and oversized structured bag.
Oversized Jumper – H&M - £9.99
This fine knit jumper with pleather panelled sleeves is a great A/W basic any year, its perfect to layer underneath and on top of. A pair of leggings, a chunky knit scarf and a leather jacket would create a simple day to day Nomcore look fit for the runway.
Waterfall Monochrome Shawl – Matalan - £12.00
This is a great find! The gorgeous structure of this garment makes it so much more luxurious than the price tag says. This shawl would be perfect for throwing on top of outfits both in the evening and the day whilst still giving a chic look to the outfit. This would be the perfect staple item in any Nomcore lover’s wardrobe.
Moda Formal Cardigan – Asda - £20.00
This grey cardigan has a structure that is much more tailored which often is associated with Nomcore but at the same time this has a more laid back approach which is perfect. This style is similar to the boyfriend coat style which again is within the Nomcore wardrobe – layering this with chunky knit scarfs and dresses would make a simple yet really lovely outfit that has minimal effort.
Navy and Red Check Blanket Wrap – New Look - £19.99
These blanket wrap have been huge this A/W and so they should be, they create effortless looks in a really classy way. The print of this wrap is necessarily a Nomcore print but I think tartan is a trend that will always be in and out of fashion so it is worth having a key item like this in your wardrobe.

Hope you enjoyed this post – I’ll be back with more A/W14 Trends next week.
